I do Haiku

...but only rarely. I read at Poetikat's Invisible Keepsakes that today is the day - so here is my haiku in honour of the haiku festival:

A thousand blossoms
quiver in the morning sun
May's eager virgins

p.s. It turns out that the idea for the Haiku Festival comes from Tracy at Pink Purl and her friend Elizabeth of About New York , and a grand idea it is, too. I'm a little slow on the uptake, so I didn't get on the official list. I hope they don't mind stowaways.

HI, Sandra! Just to let you know, stowaways are gladly welcome...the more the merrier! ;o) I will see to it your name is added to my list...never too late. I am so glad you heard the word and joined us. Your haiku is full of evocative and sensual imagery--love it! Very much a picture of springtime in words. Thanks for participating. And so glad you had fun. The response to this even has been so great, I am sure it will return and hope you'll join us again! Happy Day :o)

Thanks, Tracy. I think the Haiku Festival is a great idea (and I love the elegant widget). Annual? Semi-annual?

Ha! Thank you, John. I think you and I were commenting at the same time. I must add Tracy and Elizabeth's blogs to my list.

Sandra...you are a natural!!! I couldn't hope to come up with something so innocent and yet so powerful. It's one of the best ones I've read.

Thank you, Shayla. I'm glad you came by. I was inspired to visit your lovely art diary - which in turn made me feel really good about having voted Green in our Provincial Election today. You do beautiful work.
