Sunday, Sunday

Well. It's a quiet morning in the Land of Blog, so I think I'll take up Willow's challenge: Willow was tagged yesterday by Elizabeth Wix of About New York, and she passed the challenge on to anyone who might be interested:

"Rules of the meme: Respond and rework.
Answer questions on your own blog.
Replace one question. Add one question.
You are supposed to tag eight bloggers, but I'm going to
leave this one open to anyone who would like to participate.

Come on! It's fun!"

Okay, Willow. I'm game.

1. What are your current obsessions? All things bloggy, writing poems, researching my NaNoWriMo book.

2. Who is your favourite composer? Brahms.

3. What's for dinner? A roast of something. It's too early to decide for sure.

4. Last thing you bought? Cough syrup and allergy eye drops.

5. What are you listening to? Background music on the Weather Channel.

6. Say something to the person who tagged you. Willow, thank you for Stand By Me. It brought me to tears.

7. Favorite vacation spots. San Carlos, Sonora; English canals.

8. Vacation spots I must visit before I die. Tuscany. Crete.

9. Reading right now? New York: An Illustrated History (Burns); On Becoming a Novelist (Gardner)

10. Four words to describe yourself: Compulsive, insecure, friendly, adventurous.

11. Guilty pleasure? Cheesecake.

12. First spring thing? Watching for the first blossoms on the dogwood trees.

13. Best thing you ate or drank lately? Dark, rich coffee. Two small handfuls of beans freshly ground with one cardamom pod, to take away the anger. Brewed in my French press.

14. What spring flower are you most anxious to see? Dogwood.

15. Care to share some wisdom? Even five minutes of meditation in the morning can transform your day.

16. What do you plant in your garden? I plant hanging baskets of summer flowers at home, and I share a BIG vegetable garden with a hundred or so other people.

***************************************************
There. I won't tag anybody, because I know how annoying that can be, but I'll issue an invitation to anybody who wants to join in.

Cardomon pods brewed with coffee take away anger? How cool is that? I'm going to try it.

I secretly love the music on the weather channel. That's so funny!

Happy Monday.

Cough syrup and allergy eye drops. You are living the high life, aren't you?
Love the new header.

Reya - heh. Not my anger, just the coffee's. For mine, I make the coffee half decaf! I'll mention the coffee anger later in my blog.

Debbie, thanks. I found the photo in my album and suddenly realized it fit.

Hello, Miss Sandra! Thank you for stopping by my little place in the Blogdom. I have just had an introduction to yours. I admire anyone who can grow a vegetable garden. I have herbs, but rely on local farmers at weekly markets for the freshest produce and flowers. I too find the weather channel to be its own type of meditation...the music, the voices, and the inevitable weather. Here in Alabama, it is very unusual to have a frost this late in the spring. It was near freezing and very windy last night and early this morning, and will be the same tonight, but I think it will be warming up after this.
Oxfordshire is special to my family. We had an exchange student from there many years ago, and our two families have become very close over the years. I am going over to another of your blogs to read about your boating! Kindest regards, Firelight.

Hello, FireLight. I'm glad you came for a visit. I must confess that one of the reasons I love the community garden is that, left to my own devices, I'm a pretty hopeless gardener. In the big garden, I can just do as I'm told, and that suits me. I do plant hanging baskets of flowers at home (just three or four now - I used to do fourteen), and I grow herbs as well, some in a window box, others in tubs out behind the house.
