Me and My Big Mouth!

Well, not my big mouth, really. My quick-on-the-draw typing fingers. They're to blame.

This is what happened. I was sitting here in my comfy chair, reading the comments to yesterday's blog. Maribeth (Giggles and Guns) had left a comment, so I followed her link. I discovered that she has set herself a 1000-word-a-day goal for this month. She wrote You are welcome to come along for the ride. I'm sure it will be wild -- at least from my end. What is this? Why can't I resist an invitation like that? Before I could think twice about it, I wrote a comment to the effect that sure, I'd love to join her. Peer pressure, I said, seems to work for me.

Hey, it's not like I have anything else to do this month, apart from flying to England and spending the next three weeks tearing around on roads no wider than the car, visiting places like Penzance (where the pirates come from) and Land's End (which is one of my Bucket List destinations) - oh, and Scotland. We're supposed to go visit some friends in Scotland. What the hell. Robin does the driving in England. While he's driving, I'll check and see what Bridget and Billy and all those other characters have been up to while I had them on Ignore.

Is there a 12-step program for this problem?

You jumped on the bus and fell off the wagon! Truly, I loved following your adventures during NaNoWriMo, and I look forward to this next step!

Oh Sandra, we are on our way! Strength in numbers and all that.
We will be so ready for November that we will breeze through it. (I may be getting a tad carried away here.)
It will be fun --when I'm not pulling my hair out.

Sounds like one heck of a trip, Sandra. And, if you take a few photographs, aren't they worth a thousand words each?

I'm just saying...

Karen, I think you've come up with my newest motto - "On the bus and off the wagon." I like it.

Mary, I'm so glad I found your blog. I needed an inspiration, and there it was. So cool.

Barry, you're a genius. What can I say?

John, thank you - and my camera is already packed, ready to step in when words fail me.

Lawd! *laughing* - we both need our deep breaths, huh?

Oh, but Scotland! OH OHOHOHOHOH I am envious!

Yes, Kathryn, I think we are actually going to make it to Scotland on this trip. Mind you, we keep saying that, and then we'll be enjoying sunny, warm weather in southern England, we'll ask our friends in Scotland about the weather there, and suddenly Scotland won't sound like such a good idea. Maybe we just shouldn't call ahead to our friends. ;>)
