In response to a challenge,
I square my shoulders, flex my typing fingers, and leap into the fray. At least, that's what I'm going to try to do. The challenge is at Totalfeckineejit's blog, which I just read. I was still working at 7 pm my time, so I didn't see his post until just now - so I guess 9:23 p.m. will have to be my "as close as you can get" time. I'm supposed to write a poem and not take more than 5 minutes to do it. Heh. Here goes.
Today out on the road I saw
two cars sporting stickers that both read
"I know how you feel; I just don't care."
It was all I could do to keep on driving
In the face of such a sad reflection
on what we have become.
Oh dear, there's my five minutes gone. I should have stuck to haiku.

We're off to a flying start here, Sandra, well done and thanks. It will be interesting to see if there is a similar mondayesque feeling to the other poems. This one is excellent by the way.Hope you join in again next Monday?
Interesting idea TFE came up with--the 5 minute Monday poem. This one's good--that bumper sticker really is a "sad reflection."
I bet people think that bumper sticker is funny, but I agree with you. How sad!
Oh God. Can't do it right now, but really want to. Got to shower, eat, vacuum--should be doing house-stuff, not messing on the computer. Darn you TFE!!! And it's only Monday? Double Darn!
I liked yours, Sandra. You have tapped into a reaction that we don't always share; rather, we internalize it and it becomes even sadder still.
Kat
oh....very nice - and insightful....
and sadly true
It was Mondayesque, wasn't it? Things look brighter today. I had a lovely day in Victoria with my niece and her husband. It did not rain.
