R.I.P. Gale Storm - another childhood memory
I heard today that Gale Storm died on the weekend. Do you remember her? She starred in a show called "My Little Margie" in the fifties, then in "The Gale Storm Show."
This is the obituary Yahoo provided.
My mother used to see Gale Storm and say "Look at that woman. She has five kids - and look at the figure on her!"
According to the obituary, she had only four children, so my mother was exaggerating just a bit (or she got confused, because Gale Storm's mother had five kids). Regardless, her little wasp waist was pretty impressive, as witness this video, in which she sings "Dark Moon" and "I Hear You Knockin'".

Good Lord! So many celebrities lost in such a short time.
I once had a crush on Gail Storm. Thought she was the most beautiful woman to walk the earth!
Of course I ws young then.
I forgot all about Gale Storm. What a name! Wow.
Hope she's partying with MJ and Farrah.
Not to worry, Barry. I fell in love with Mario Lanza when I was eight.
Reya, I understand that, in those days, a career as an entertainer usually entailed a change of name, said name chosen by somebody else. Sad. Disorienting.
The name rings a bell--yes, definitely a stage name-- but I don't really remember her. Per this vid, she was a good singer, & hey, another moon song!
You're so young, John. ;>)
I know the name (honest), but I don't know her to see her. Another moon song? See that John?
Who's the gent in the clip, by the way?
Kat
Wow! Now, see? This is why I never get to all the Theme Thursday participants. I'm late and other posts have happened, something catches my attention and I can't look away, and boom! Suddenly I'm watching Gale Storm (you've unearthed a lost memory for me, with this one!;-) dancing with none other than Peter Gunn!(Craig Stevens, of course, and I thought I was the only one who remembered him)
I was kinda little back then, but the memory lives!
There you go, Kat - A. Decker got it. Craig Stevens. I'm glad that at least a few of us are old enough to remember these folks. ;>)
