P.S. - The Friday 56 Post
I came across a meme at Life Is Now, and I found it intriguing, so here is my response.
Rules:
* Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
* Turn to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of this blog.
*Post a link along with your post back to this blog.
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST
So. The closest book to me is Carl Sandburg's Rootabaga Stories.
"Blixie Blimber liked him because he was a steeplejack, a little, but more because he was a whistler."

I'm sorry Sandra, I probably won't do all the other steps, but I was intrigued by the instructions so this is what I got on line 5 of page 56 of Opening the Dragon Gate (book nearest to me): "winter solstice."
The whole sentence is "On the autumn equinox, the heart fluid reaches the lungs, thence to reenter the kidneys on the winter solstice."
Believe it or not, this sentence holds a lot of meaning for me right now. :)
Your sentence is delightful!
's okay, René. I left a comment over at Life Is Now, pointing back here.
I got Lincoln on Leadership, don't ask why. :D Fifth sentence down: By today's standard, the moniker "Honest Abe" might be considered pretentious, even contrived.
Kimmi - Interesting - and correct. We have become very cynical. I'm beginning to feel strange, here. Everybody else is reading books on history and spirituality and whatever. I'm reading a kid's book. Oh, well. It did come highly recommended.
I didn't give the best directions...post on the following...

I like this meme though...it's fun to see what people are reading.
Sandra-You are not alone!
I'm reading a teen Vampire-Angel warrior book...
Rene Wing: Love your sentence. Powerful!
Kimmi- Thanks for playing!
